This thing makes tapping holes a piece of cake.
The Tapping process is controlled by a PIC micro processor. The chuck will take a tap up to 1/2 inch. (Shown in the picture is an 8-32 tap.) |
How it Works
Turning on the switch in the front supplys power to the PIC but does not turn on the motor. Position the piece to be tapped on the table under the tap. Pull the handle down to put the tap in the hole, The motor automatically turns on, tapping the hole, stops, reverses, when the tap clears the hole it shuts off again. All the operator needs to do is keep down pressure on the handle to keep the part down flat on the table. About as much pressure as you can apply with one finger. That's it, the whole process takes about 1 1/2 seconds. |
